As you know we are always working here to make controlling better for both the controllers and the pilots that frequent our airspace. One of the changes that is now in effect is the MINIMUM TIME LOG for active status.

We have looked at this policy and feel that requirements of working only 30 Minutes over a 4 Month Period is too little for someone to maintain a reasonable state of proficency with our standards and the ever changing SOP's.

Thus we have made a change to this policy requiring Controllers to work a minimum of 30 Consecutive Minutes over a 1 Month period to retain active status as a controller in the ZOA.

You may still request Leave of Absence if you will need to be away for longer than the 1 month period and this part of the policy has not changed.

Please Read the new Removal Policy here! CPS-010B (http://www.zoaartcc.org/docs/CPS_010.htm)

The AC will send a notice letter to any controller that falls into this 1 month inactive class over the next couple of months to insure he is aware of the change and has a 1 week period to become active prior to being placed on the removal list.
