Guys,

i have a suggestion for the Cal-Scream signup positions.

Rob , can you automatically take the pre-selected positions off from the list box once the controller signsup for it?

eg: If i select APC approach , that choice should be removed from the Select List.

Thanks

Sachin

Sachin I see your point but this is mine. I think we should leave these here and another controller can sign up for the same position if he likes. Then if one does not show up we have a back-up or a relief. When we make up the final staffing roster then you will be able to see if you get the position you applied for or not.

Just my oppenion. Rob may be thinking differently.

There is also this. You can layer approach/departure positions just like Center is layered. at KLAS this is done, with a HI_APP (approach ceiling inbound is 12000, outbound, FL190) handling arrivals from 12000 - 8000, then LO_APP at 8000 - handoff to tower. Departure from wheels up - 11000, then HI_DEP from 11000 - FL190.

Backup is always good, but sometimes more realism can be done by sharing the laod and subsectoring. Besides, it's fun! ;)

Rob asked me to make a signup form - however - my computer bit the dust this past week so I've not been able to do anything.

I will be getting that done very soon.

Everyone were down to 17 days left until CS9. Remember anyone on the ZOA roster can work this event. We have positions for controllers at all levels. For those of you who don't know I worked my first CS event after controlling for 8 days.

Holy cow, Scott. That must have been quite the trial-by-fire...

I'm up for work around 1300 Local. That is, if I can manage to _just_ sleep an hour and a half at KFI after my shift. I'll set an alarm... and I wouldn't be too surprised if by 1700 someone calls my frequency and hears snoring...

I signed up for OAK Ground in the hopes it would entice someone else into taking tower... I still dream of actually working a sub-tower position with tower working above me. BUT, should nobody accept my challenge, I'll take OAK Tower and run the works. I'll just try to brush up on my request-list usage, so I don't start forgetting people who've asked for clearances and/or start noticing the poor guy who's been waiting for 10 minutes. ^_^

Lookin' forward to it, for sure.

James,

Tony's already taken the Tower at OAK.
