WOOHOO! I got to handle my first aircraft. I was staffing SJC_TWR. AA1213 was flying KLAX to KSJC. He showed up in my arrival list, giving me plenty of warning.

I had the facility chart open in another window so I could give him accurate taxi instructions.

He requested the visual approach for 30L. I said approach was not online, so approach was at his discretion, he should just contact me roughly 10 miles out.

He called, I gave him the altimeter and winds and cleared him to land.

Welcomed him to the airport, asked him to turn right when able and taxi to the ramp.

What a rush! (Please don't laugh)

This is going to be a blast, I can tell already.

No one is laughing at you.

It IS a rush - and the rush happens again and again and again.

Keith the fun is only beginning. I have been doing this now for 2+ years and I still get a rush when I have traffic. I go to bed and dream about the flights that I worked that day.

Last night for instance I worked SFO TWR for the first time since I can remember. I had a blast. I had forgotten how much fun Tower can be. I then went to bed and spent the rest of the night dreaming about working tower. Too bad I cant log all that time hehe.
