The FAB discussed operating procedures between Oakland Center and NorCal Approach and decided to bring these procedures more in line with the real world procedures. In most areas Oakland Center descends aircraft to the base of their airspace and hands off to the appropriate NorCal sector. There are some exceptions in order to facilitate descent on a STAR and we tried to preserve those procedures.
In summary, OAK_CTR will descend arrivals to FL240 or FL200 depending on the initial arrival sector. Please review the update SOP's on the SOPs/LOAs tab under ATC Training for details. Changes are highlighted in green.
