I'm beginning the process of updating our SOPs on the website as some of them are outdated or have mistakes in them. Most of the issues are minor. But these are not actually web pages that I can update offline and then upload as a group. Each SOP is a database entry so as I update each SOP it may make others seem to not make sense. When I complete the entire task I'll post a reply.

Is there any way you could describe any significant changes in revision notes in each SOP? It'd be hard to scan them to see what's changed.
Thanks
Craig

Sure, I can do that. Most of it won't be anything new. It'll be things we've been doing in practice that just hadn't been put into writing.

I want to give an update to this project since there has been much discussion about how outdated the SOPs are. As of this morning I'm about halfway done. You'll have to read each updated CPS/SOP to get the exact specifics, but here's a capsule of what's been updated as of now:
CPS-001 Training Program
*Rewrote the training program description to match the way our current training program is structured.
*Corrected some incorrect references to other documents
*Emphasized the need for ZOA students to do self study and to control SMT without needing to take up valuable INS/MEN time.
CPS-002 Facility & Equipment Ratings Requirements
*Rewrote some of the certification requirements as needed to reflect the current ZOA training progressions and the new GRP 2.0
*Refined the descriptions of the instructional ratings as needed. The main change being that we removed the time limits on mentors. Mentors are always expected to maintain current knowledge of all procedures related to their skillset and they should always be ready for confirmation of their skills by the FAB if needed.
CPS-003 Mentor Program
*See above as the changes made to this document were just to match CPS-002.
CPS-003 Staff Organization & Responsibilities
*Changed the overseer of the mentor program to the TA since Adam has been running it since his appointment as TA.
SOP 200, 202, 204 OAKLAND CENTER SOPs
*Updated all 3 SOPs to remove the numerical identification of the various STARs and DPs. So now instead of the SOP referring to the MOD3 STAR or the PORTE3 DP they just refer to the MOD STAR or the PORTE DP. This will mean less need for updates in the future.
There are currently some other issues in the documents listed above that the FAB are reviewing. If changes are needed they'll be made and announced.
This week I intend to update the TRACON SOPs.

Some more changes that were made this morning....
1: Updated the VA list page so that all links and images are current. Removed a couple of defunct VAs from the list.
2: Updated all 3 Oakland Center SOPs to reflect the following:
A) Removed references to Hi & Lo CTRs since nobody on the FAB could remember the last time they were used. If we decide to use them again we can always write a separate SOP.
B) Updated all instructions relating to airports near the borders with ZLA and ZSE so they are in line with the letters of agreement with those ARTCCs.
Next up are the tracon SOPs....

Sorry for the delay in continuing this project. The following website updates have been made as of this post:
1: Recently Michael removed the old "VA Partners" page as we didn't feel we were seeing much benefit to any sort of "partner" program. All the VAs on that page, plus some new ones, were all moved to our standard VA list.
2: There were also some recent updates to the events web pages as well as some roster pages related to the staff.
3: The 3 Reno Tracon SOPs have now been combined back into 1 SOP and it has been updated.
4: The LICKE sector SOP for NorCal Tracon has been updated. The main updates were the removal of the version specific numbers of the STARs and DPs (i.e. the references to the SUNOL6 DP now refer to the SUNOL DP)
Hope to get more of the NCT sector updates done this week.
