The first ZOA podcast is now available. Thanks to Jonah & Michael for taking the time. We had a very good conversation and I think some of you will enjoy listening. This podcast is about 45 minutes long and all 3 of us answer questions and talk about things we're doing here at ZOA.

The direct link to the .mp3 file is:
http://www.oakartcc.com/podcasts/ZOA_Podcast_1_1.mp3

If you want to use ITunes to download the podcast, open ITunes, go to the podcasts section and at the top hit Advanced, then Subscribe To Podcast and enter:
http://www.oakartcc.com/podcast.rss

You can search for the ZOA Podcast in the ITunes store. If you open ITunes, go to the store, search for "ZOA", then click on podcasts you should be able to find it.

Depending on how much you guys like this we may or may not do more. I can't say how often we'll do them. If we do them on a regular basis I'd like to at least do one per month.

Please give your feedback via the forum or PM or email. Enjoy.

Honestly I never have gotten into postcasts at all, but this one really gives the normal controller an insight to what goes on behind the scopes.

I really do. If you have feedback, we need to hear it. This was an experiment. How will we know how to improve if we don't hear feedback?

I think he might mean that your post Michael is slightly ironic because a normal controller should know what goes on behind the scopes, considering they are sitting there. I could be wrong though. "........................" could mean many things.

Although, I understand what you meant, Michael.

Knowing Steffen, I think he clearly meant to say that there was nothing further to be added to Michael's posting.

What I don't understand is why we still need to have this type of drama each time... Maybe I should sign up my 6 year old for this as well. She may enjoy this a bit more...

The bottom line is anyone who isn't interested in the podcast doesn't have to listen to them. I assume by "normal" controllers Michael was referring to everyone who isn't an FAB member or mentor/instructor. The folks who don't know all the ins and outs behind the scenes. We're doing a lot of work around here, such as writing new PV standards and updating our SOPs, and I thought this was a good opportunity to inform ZOA about things like this. I hope some find them informative, if/when we do another one.

BTW, if you guys ever have specific feedback about anything ZOA related, good or bad, please don't hesitate to contact me privately if you don't want to post it on a public forum. ZOA is your ARTCC. The only way I can make it a place you enjoy even more is if I know the things that you like about it and the things you don't.
